Dr. Chia-Hao Hsu's Team Recognized as
a Suzhou Major Innovation Team

Dr. Chia-Hao Hsu, Senior Director of Science and Innovation at magAssist, received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge and is a recipient of China's National Young Talent Program. His research has long focused on magnetically levitated systems and core technologies for advanced medical devices.
Bringing together multidisciplinary expertise in electrical engineering, fluid dynamics, control systems, and intellectual property, the team successfully developed MoyoAssist®, China's first approved fully magnetically levitated extracorporeal ventricular assist device. The product received Innovative Medical Device Designation and obtained Class III medical device registration approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).
The award-winning project, "Development and Industrialization of a Collapsible Minimally Invasive Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device," focuses on addressing significant unmet clinical needs in high-risk percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and cardiogenic shock.
Its product, NyokAssist®, has received both U.S. FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and NMPA Innovative Medical Device Designation, making it the world's only collapsible percutaneous ventricular assist device to receive innovation designations from both the United States and China. The technology has the potential to expand treatment options for critically ill patients worldwide.
Looking Ahead
This recognition is both an honor and an encouragement for continued innovation. Moving forward, magAssist will continue to advance original technologies in the field of life support, accelerate the industrialization of its percutaneous ventricular assist device program, and address unmet clinical needs through technological innovation.
The company will continue strengthening its advanced manufacturing capabilities to support scalable production of high-quality life-support devices, while driving the development of high-end medical technologies and providing more innovative treatment solutions for critically ill patients.
